(MIAMI) – As millions of couples wait for their flowers to arrive via UPS this Valentine’s Day, airline maintenance technicians and related classifications protested at a UPS store in downtown Miami on February 13 to tell customers they should be concerned about the company that is delivering their flowers.
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, mechanics and other workers who service UPS’ fleet of jet engine aircraft started voting Friday to authorize a strike. The strike vote comes after three years of prolonged negotiations during which UPS continues to demand huge concessions.
(WASHINGTON) – With the start of the holiday shopping season just weeks away, mechanics and other workers who ensure UPS’s (NYSE: UPS) fleet of jet engine aircraft are operational and safe are heading into negotiations with the company.
UPS, a multi-billion-dollar company, is calling for a massive reduction in both active and retiree health benefits for 1,200 maintenance workers who are critical to the company’s supply chain. Most do physically demanding and often dangerous work around jet engine aircraft and equipment, and toxic fuel, chemicals and exhaust.
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – Teamsters Local 2727 airline maintenance technicians and related classifications picketed at customer locations in Indiana this week protesting deep concessionary contract proposals that would significantly increase health care costs and not improve wages for its members.
Workers held signs that read “UPS: Corporate Greed, Don’t Take Our Health Care” to draw attention to a company proposed 430 percent increase in health insurance premiums in the first year of a new contract.
