With over 90 percent of the bargaining unit participating in the election, Material Specialists represented by the Teamsters Airline Division voted overwhelmingly to ratify their tentative agreement with Southwest Airlines.


Shop stewards who represent aircraft mechanics at United Airlines (UA) wrapped up a two-day training last week  at IBT headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“I’d like to thank everyone who made time to come out to our training last week,” said Capt. David Bourne, Teamsters Airline Division Director. “Whether you have been a Teamster in the aviation industry for three years or 30 years, there’s always something new to learn.”


Students from all over Southern California participated in the first ever Clippers SoCal SciFest sponsored by USA Science and Engineering. While on a smaller scale than the Washington DC Festival there was no lack of enthusiasm on the part of the Students their Parents or the Exhibitors. The event attracted approximately 40,000 to the LA convention center over the weekend.

Your Negotiations Committee (NC) met with the Company on April 2, 3 and 4th at Allegiant Air Headquarters. The Union and the Company made passes and worked on Articles 12, Training, 19 Grievance Procedure, 20 Board of Arbitration, 23 Management Rights and 24 Labor-Management Cooperation. A Tentative Agreement was reached on Article 12 Training as well a Protocol Agreement. All in all, it was another productive negotiations session.

The next negotiations meeting is scheduled for the week of May 14th.
