Airline Division News, Week Ending October 5, 2013

Negotiations for a stand-alone Technician and Related, Subsidiary ASA contract resumed this week in Atlanta with the Union and the Company agreeing to meet outside of Federal Mediation.

The Company has yet to respond to the union proposal that advised the company of the unions’ interest in accepting their offer of additional wages and work rules with the understanding that it would only apply to the S-ASA side.

Union bargaining committee members convened at Local 19’s union hall in Houston this past week to discuss strategy as they prepare to meet with United Airlines in negotiations on October 7th.

SWA Material Specialist Negotiations began in Dallas the week of September 9th. The Negotiating Committee along with Local Union Business Agents and Airline Division Representatives met September 3rd thru 5th to begin the process of compiling the results of the membership survey.

The National Mediation Board has announced that flight simulator technicians at United Airlines voted for sole representation by the Teamsters Union. The 98 technicians were previously represented by the Teamsters at United in Denver and the Transport Workers Union at Continental in Houston prior to the 2010 merger.

Airline Division News, Week Ending August 30, 2013

The CitationAir Negotiating Committee assembled in White Plains, New York on Monday, August 19th to resume bargaining with management towards their first Collective Bargaining Agreement. Local 1108 President Captain Mat Slinghoff and Interim MEC Chairman F/O Tim Carter joined with the team for the session. The group met with the expectation of receiving new information about CitationAir’s future operations as it had been almost six months since the last meeting with management.

The Negotiating Committee for NetJets Technicians and Related met with the Company on August 20th and 21st. The parties discussed Article 8- (Grievance Procedure), with the Company initiating discussions regarding the Unions last proposal. The Union and the Company were able to reach a Tentative Agreement on Article 4 – (Union Security, Check Off and D.R.I.V.E.)

Airline Division News, Week Ending August 12, 2013

Negotiations with Express Jet resumed August 7th through August 9th in Philadelphia. Discussions continued on Section 8 – (Vacations) and Section 22 – (General and Miscellaneous).  Although no tentative agreements were reached, progress was made on both contract sections.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Communications Workers of America announced this week that they have reached a tentative agreement covering 6,500 passenger service employees at US Airways.

Airline Division News, Week Ending July 20, 2013

The federal mediator assigned to ExpressJet negotiations reconvened the parties on July 15th with discussions continuing through July 18th.
