Week In Review
Negotiations continued this past week, February 27th through March 1st in Baltimore. While Airline Division Director David Bourne, met last week with Brad Holt to discuss a solution to a unified ExpressJet/ASA agreement; the focus of this week’s session was work on the Express Jet contract with the assistance of the federal mediator.
This week, the parties met in Chicago to continue Phase 1 (non economic) reconciliation talks on a joint combined collective bargaining agreement. With a few remaining reconciliation issues that may require further discussion, next week a small group from the Teamster committee will focus on constructing and tightening language to reflect the agreements reached in committee discussions. That language will then be available for analysis, review and edits by the entire committee the following week prior to moving forward.
This week, Airline Division Director David Bourne travelled to Phoenix, Arizona to meet with the Local 104 regarding the pending merger of the CSR’s of American and USAirways. Discussions centered on a joint IBT/CWA agreement and looking forward to an organizing campaign to merge the American CSR’s into the unit.
Atlas Air / Polar Air Cargo Flight Dispatchers Ratify First Contract
Flight Dispatchers for Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo have ratified their first contract in a vote last week. By an overwhelming margin, the dispatchers of the two carriers; who operate under the umbrella of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, accepted the terms of the five year agreement.
