Atlast Air Negotiations History, Part II

As we approach the end of 2019, your negotiating committee thought a recap of the timeline since the beginning of the process would be useful.

The Atlas Air Negotiating Committee evolved out of what was formerly the Contract Study Committee back in 2015. At that time, we had created and published the first contract comparison document to ensure the pilot group was up to date with what other contracts throughout the industry provided to their respective members.

Atlas Air Pilots Announce Formation of Local 2750

(WASHINGTON) – At the request of the pilots at Atlas Air, Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa and the Teamsters General Executive Board approved the formation of Teamsters Local 2750, a newly created local union dedicated to the pilots.

The following is a statement from General President James Hoffa and Airline Division Director Captain David Bourne.

Teamster DHL-Contracted Pilots Protest Outside Atlas Air Worldwide Headquarters In Purchase, N.Y.

(PURCHASE, N.Y.) – Holding signs reading “Our Families Deserve Better” and “Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Pilots Ready to Strike,” pilots from major DHL and Amazon contractor Atlas Air are protesting outside the Purchase headquarters of their airline’s holding company, Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW), to demand company executives stop denying them of a fair, industry-standard contract. This week marks the current contract’s amendable date – the date pilots are due a new contract by management.

Atlas Pilots Protest at NASDAQ While Company Holds Investor Day

(NEW YORK) – While Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW) hosts an investor day in New York, the pilots working for its subsidiary air carriers who fly cargo for DHL and are picketing outside the NASDAQ Market site in Times Square. Through its Atlas Air, Inc. and Polar Air Worldwide Cargo, Inc. subsidiaries, AAWW is DHL’s largest American contractor.

Pilots Flying For DHL Express To Enter Federally Mediated Contract Negotiations With Atlas Air

(Washington, D.C.) -- The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Teamsters Airline Division and APA Teamsters Local 1224, filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board (NMB) recently after Atlas Air refused to engage in any further legally-mandated negotiations. Last week the federal government accepted the request of the union representing more than 1,300 pilots flying for DHL-contracted airlines Atlas Air, Inc. and Polar Air Cargo to mediate contract negotiations with the airlines.
