Teamsters Airline Division

Teamsters Social Network:

How We Negotiate – Rank-and-File Bargaining

The most important component to negotiating a strong contract for airline mechanics and related is rank-and-file involvement. That’s why member engagement and input is built in to the Teamsters’ bargaining structure and process.

Click here to see our new flier explaining the negotiating process of the Teamsters.

In negotiations, all Title I and Title II employees at American will be surveyed on bargaining priorities and contract changes. Rank-and-file mechanics and related will form the System Negotiating Steering Committee and the National Negotiating Committee to compile local membership proposals and conduct negotiations with AA. These committee members will have Teamster Airline Division representatives and other Teamster experts by their side at the bargaining table, providing them with guidance and advice.

With all of the challenges we face at AA, we want to be sure our voice is heard throughout negotiations. And that’s exactly what we can expect when we become Teamsters and reopen our contract.

The Teamsters are our only chance for change at American Airlines!
