The three parties said in a Monday filing that they've agreed on a mediator, who will attempt to facilitate a settlement resolving the government's lawsuit to block the proposed merger.

Unions representing American Airlines pilots, American and US Airways flight attendants and US Airways ground workers asked U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly to let them file an amicus brief in the antitrust case of American and US Airways. The unions include the Allied Pilots Association, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, Communications Workers of America, and the Teamsters.
