UAL/CAL/CMI Mechanics Update - January 17, 2015

The negotiations committee met in Houston last week to review and finalize a proposal to the company as mandated by the Mediator. The committee worked through both days and was able to complete all but two items: Health and Welfare and Pension.

The IBT Negotiations Committee and leadership, as well as the company’s negotiations committee, gave status updates at the National Mediation Board headquarters in Washington, DC on December 2. The rank-and-file delegation met in caucus after these discussions; the committee determined it would be in the best interest of the membership to continue discussions with the company through the mediator beginning in the first several months of next year...

It's true that the company filed for mediation, but the company’s version of how and why that happened is completely false...   

UAL/CAL/CMI Mechanics Update - November 24, 2014

The negotiating committee met on November 20 at Local 19 in Houston to discuss how to proceed with negotiations. This meeting was convened as a result of last week’s call with the Airline Division. The thirteen member committee debated the merits of several different ideas throughout the day.

UAL/CAL/CMI Mechanics Update - October 27, 2014

The union and United Airlines reconvened negotiations in Chicago this week for another session of bargaining under the direction and supervision of the National Mediation Board. There are no scheduled dates through the end of the year.

UAL/CAL/CMI Mechanics Update - October 20, 2014

The parties return to the table starting October 21 in Chicago under the direction of Gerry McGuckin from the NMB. At mediator McGuckin’s request, in advance of this week's session there was some subcommittee work done in Chicago. Also as a part of this advance work, officials from TeamCare met with the company along with Business Agents from several locals.

UAL/CAL/CMI Mechanics Update - October 11, 2014

The UAL mechanics seniority committee met last week in Seattle Washington to discuss some open issues prior to returning to the task of merging the three seniority lists. One of the main topics discussed was on the subject of tiebreakers. The process of merging the lists will resume in the coming weeks.

United Contacting Those Who Flew With Ebola Victim

United Airlines said Thursday it is notifying passengers who were on flights with a man later diagnosed with Ebola and telling them how to contact federal health officials.
